ROB’S CELEBRATION OF LIFE
The Celebration of Life for Rob Maxey was Saturday, April 29, at 2:30pm. You can watch a recording of the ceremony by clicking the following link: Watch Rob’s Celebration of Life.
Rob Maxey was the Executive Director for Youth for Christ Ministries in the Sacramento area. He had been part of YFC and Campus Life for over 20 years and built many amazing ministries for youth in our area. An avid runner and fitness buff, it came as a complete shock 18 months ago when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. With a terminal diagnosis, the Sacramento area prayed and we all rejoiced when we learned that he carried a “mutant” gene that would extend his life longer than most lung cancer patients.
Our hearts are breaking now as we have come to the end of that gracious gift. Rob went home to be with his Lord in the early morning hours of April 15th. Rob, his wife Mickey, and their boys have consistently pointed others to God’s grace in suffering, and the beauty that can still be found even in the midst of the suffering they endured.
The purpose of this website is not to glorify Rob, but rather to glorify God and celebrate how he used Rob to bring about positive change in our community and in the lives of so many. We desire to see the amazing ministries that Rob was instrumental in building continue to thrive after he is gone – so not only is this website for you to remember him, but also to allow you to donate to the ROB MAXEY LEGACY FUND to make sure they do.
